JOB SUMMARY:
Wallowa Memorial Hospital is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Medical Technologist (MT) or Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) to join our Laboratory team. In this role, you will perform a variety of clinical laboratory tests that are essential for the diagnosis, treatment and monitoring of diseases.
Responsibilities Include:

Collecting and/or receiving specimens for analysis

Conducting laboratory testing in key areas such as bacteriology, hematology, serology, chemistry, and blood banking

Performing some morphological examinations

Accurately recording and reporting test results

Assisting with related laboratory duties as needed

QUALIFICATIONS:
- MT: Completion of training in an approved school for Medical Technologists, including 12 consecutive months of training OR completion of a 4 year course approved school with a major in one of the Biological or Physical Sciences
- MLT: Completion of two year course at an approved school for Medical Laboratory Technicians AND graduate from an approved school OR a two-year college degree from an accredited institution in the Biological or Physical Sciences
- Current certification or ability to obtain certification within six (6) months from a recognized professional organization such as ASCP, AMT or an equivalent credential
- Demonstrated ability to provide compassionate, patient-centered care across diverse populations
- Ability to meet the physical and functional requirements outlined in the job description
- High School Diploma or equivalent required
- Must successfully pass a criminal background check, drug screen and reference checks
