JOB SUMMARY:
Wallowa Memorial Hospital is seeking a detail-oriented and compassionate Phlebotomist to join our Laboratory team. This role is responsible for the accurate and efficient collection of blood and other specimens, while ensuring a positive and professional experience for patients.
Responsibilities Include:

Collecting blood and other laboratory specimens from inpatients, outpatients and the general public

Ensuring patient comfort during the collection process

Performing specimen processing and distributing samples to technologists for analysis

Maintaining accurate records, filing and data entry using laboratory information systems

Supporting laboratory cleanliness and organization

Demonstrating strong interpersonal and communication skills to maintain excellent public relations

Utilizing computer systems proficiently for documentation and workflow support

Phlebotomist - Job Description
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Phlebotomy experience, skills and/or certification preferred

Willingness and enthusiasm to learn phlebotomy techniques if not already certified

Strong communication skills and ability to interact effectively with peers, patients and the public

Demonstrated professionalism, reliability and a patient-centered approach across diverse populations
- Ability to meet the physical and functional requirements outlined in the job description
- High School Diploma or equivalent required
- Must successfully pass a criminal background check, drug screen and reference checks
