JOB SUMMARY:

Wallowa Memorial Hospital is seeking a detail-oriented and compassionate Phlebotomist to join our Laboratory team. This role is responsible for the accurate and efficient collection of blood and other specimens, while ensuring a positive and professional experience for patients.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Collecting blood and other laboratory specimens from inpatients, outpatients and the general public
  • Ensuring patient comfort during the collection process
  • Performing specimen processing and distributing samples to technologists for analysis
  • Maintaining accurate records, filing and data entry using laboratory information systems
  • Supporting laboratory cleanliness and organization
  • Demonstrating strong interpersonal and communication skills to maintain excellent public relations
  • Utilizing computer systems proficiently for documentation and workflow support

Phlebotomist - Job Description

 

QUALIFICATIONS: 

  • Phlebotomy experience, skills and/or certification preferred
  • Willingness and enthusiasm to learn phlebotomy techniques if not already certified
  • Strong communication skills and ability to interact effectively with peers, patients and the public
  • Demonstrated professionalism, reliability and a patient-centered approach across diverse populations
  • Ability to meet the physical and functional requirements outlined in the job description
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required
  • Must successfully pass a criminal background check, drug screen and reference checks

Salary Range:  $21.36 + DOE + Shift Differential
